NO MORE BINKIE...

Staley has been addicted to her binkie since she was born. She HAD to have it when she took a nap, went to bed, went for a ride in the car, or when she would watch tv. So basically, all the time! When she turned 3 we told her that binkies go away. So on her 3rd birthday I threw them all in the trash. She did really well with it at first. She would ask for it once in a while, but for the most part I thought binkies were history! I was wrong. She has been sneaking Jack's binkies lately. When she sees me coming she will hurry and take it out of her mouth and hide it! Like I didn't know what she was doing!!
Well, we have a bigger problem now. She is climbing up Jack's dresser in search of one. The other day the dresser fell over. No one was hurt, but she was scared. I thought she learned her lesson. Nope. Today, I heard the bang again followed by screams and crying. I ran up stairs to find her leg pined under the tipped-over dresser. I freaked and thought she crushed her leg or something. But upon inspection, her leg is fine just bruised and banged up a bit.
It is so dangerous and I have tried to explain this to her, but obviously she hadn't learned her lesson. Has she now? I guess we'll have to wait and find out. I may have to start locking his room now too!! Ha! Thats a whole other story for another day!!
Here is her poor banged up foot. So sad.

This is what I do all day....

This is what I do all day. I go from room to room and pick up the messes Jack makes. He loves to open the cupboards and empty them. By the time I put one cupboard away he has started on the next and then starts all over again with the first cupboard. He keeps me busy, but he is soooo cute, so how can I get mad?!!

Staley's School Christmas Program

It was so fun to see Staley participate in her school's Christmas program. Her class sang along to a Christmas song and did some hand actions. They wore t-shirts with their hand print traced in glitter on the back so they looked like angel wings. She was so cute and loved being in front of an audience!!
This is Staley's teacher Mrs. Lauri. She is such a good teacher and Staley loves her. When ever she plays school at home, she wants to be Mrs. Lauri.

This is Mr. David. He is the paster of the church where the school is. I love having her in a Christian school. They said a closing prayer after the program was over and it was refreshing, since most places don't do that anymore!

These kids make me laugh!

I don't have any real exciting news, like we went on some awesome trip or something amazing happened! I thought I would just post about my kids. (Mostly for me to read later when I have lost all patience!!) Sometimes I get caught up in the busy day and am consumed with what I'm doing and what needs to be done next. Shocking, huh?!! I need to remember that these kids are only small once and I know I'm going to miss these age's terribly, even when at times I wish they could just put themselves to bed!! My mom has always told me that the thing she wishes she would have done more is to give more hugs. I never have felt that I wish she would have given me more hugs, but I can see now as a parent how she would feel that way. I know I need to slow down and appreciate the moments when they happen. This is something I definitely need to work on!! So in the mean time, while I'm trying to work on myself, I will just continue to laugh at these silly kids and the crazy things they do!!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year. We went to a Halloween party with our friends. It was so much fun to see what everyone dressed up as! We dressed up as a white trash couple, Adam a security officer and I was his pregnant wife! (No, I'm not making any announcements!) We ended up winning best couple costume and I'm sure it is only because of Adam's costume!! Anyway, good people, good food, good fun! Staley was a bumble bee and tinker bell! Let me explain... She was dressed as a bumble bee before we left to have pizza at our friends, the Mortensen's, house. While we were there she wet her pant (we are potty training). Luckily her Grandma Meier had brought her a tinker bell outfit when she came to visit. We quickly changed and were good as new! Jack was a lion and even though he didn't go trick-or-treating he looked so cute! When we got home from dinner Jack was so tired I put him to bed and went out with Staley. Adam stayed home and managed the door! We were three houses away from ours, and headed home, when Staley said "OH NO, I spilled"! I thought she meant her bucket full of candy, so I looked back and... no it wasn't her candy. She had wet her pants again! It looked like she had spilled a drink on the sidewalk, so I guess thats where she got it from. It was so funny, but I was just glad that we were only 3 houses away and not 3 blocks. It would have been an uncomfortable walk home! These are a few pictures from our fun and memorable Halloween!

Happy 3rd Birthday Staley!!!

How time flys! I can't believe it has been 3 years since Staley was born. I can't believe it's 3 days after Staley's birthday and I'm barely posting. Like I said, time flys! For Staley's Birthday we had a party on Saturday where she had 5 of her friends over for cupcakes and ice cream. She had a Tinker Bell theme and loved the balloons! We then had a birthday cake on Sunday, her real birthday. This is the first year she really gets that it is her birthday. It was so fun to see her get so excited! She has grown up so fast and is such a good girl. She is, also, such a good helper and loves to play with her younger brother. She loves going to her school and playing with her friends. She has been such a huge blessing to our family and to me! I love her cute personality and funny sense of humor. She is the best! We love you Staley and hope you had a very Happy Birthday!

First Day of School, kind of!!

On Tuesday it was Staley's first day of school. It is more like a pre-pre school. It is called Mother's Day Out and I think they named it that for a reason. It has now become the day I get everything done!! It is at a Methodist Church and I love it because they have Bible story time each school day. This month they are also learning about Gods creations. She goes every Tuesday and Thursday for 5 hours, until the end of the school year. 5 hours sounded like a long time to me also, but they are changing activities and projects every 10-20 min. so the kids don't get bored. Staley has been so excited to go and meet her new teacher and to make new friends. She is already asking to go everyday, so I guess that is a good sign! She has been so cute with her backpack. She has been wanting to take it everywhere! It is almost as big as her!!
